Imphal (Manipur) [India], April 12 (ANI): Manipur has witnessed a significant boost in security operations, with forces conducting search and area domination exercises in vulnerable hill and valley districts in the last 24 hours.
According to an official press note from the Manipur Police, the security forces have made key recoveries across the state.
"One INSAS Rifle with magazine, one modified AK Rifle with magazine, two nos. of .303 Bolt Action Rifle (without magazines), seven nos. of 12 Bore Bolt Action Rifle, one 12 Bore Double Barrel Rifle, five nos. of Flare Gun ammunition, one IED weighing approximately 890 grams, two nos. of empty 12 Bore ammunition, one live 12 Bore cartridge, five nos. of live 5.56 mm ammunition, five nos. of.303 live ammunition, one Boafeng Walkie-Talkie Set, five nos. of BP jacket, five nos. of Headgear from the adjoining areas of Saiton Khunou and Saiton Haiyaikon under Phougakchao Ikhai-PS, Bishnupur District," the press note stated on Friday.
Meanwhile, the police have also recovered two INSAS magazines, one AK magazine, 40- 5.56 mm INSAS live rounds, 30 - 7.62 mm AK live round, six of Lathode round, 12 of 7.62 mm fired case, 3 of Electric Detonator, 1 TNT Slab, one Backpack, one Camouflage uniform from General Area BP-87 near Yangoupokpi under Tengnoupal-PS, Tengnoupal District.
"Two of 9 mm empty case, one Mortar round empty case, 18 Military belts, 10 Military bags, 12 handgloves, 9 Walkie-Talkie handsets with charger, 34 Combat long pants, 5 Combat jackets, 19 of Combat shirts, 36 Combat T-shirts, 1 Sleeping bag, 31 Combat caps, 9 Combat scarf, four nos. of Military bag (small size), two nos. of Firing Pin, 1 Knife and 35 nos. of Combat boot from Phayeng Sabal Leikai area under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District," the Manipur Police stated.
The police also recovered one Carbine along with a magazine, one 303 Rifle along with a magazine, 18 HE Hand Grenades, and one Para Bomb from the Heibonglok area, way to IVR of Khongnangpokpi village under Sekmai-PS, Imphal West District.
"Today i.e., 11.04.2025, one commercial truck carrying potatoes met with an accident near Keithelmanbi Military colony, Kangpokpi District. One Hemam Prem Singh (37) of Moirang, Bishnupur District, was badly injured in the accident. Good Samaritans in the vicinity performed first aid and handed him over to the Kangpokpi-PS team. He was immediately evacuated to Senapati District Hospital for treatment. Since his health condition deteriorated, he was transported to JNIMS, Imphal for further treatment," the Manipur Police stated.
The security forces arrested one active PREPAK(Pro) cadre, Angom Surjit Singh (34) alias Jojo alias Chenglei of Phayeng Sabal Leikal, Imphal West District, from the Phayeng Sabal Lwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweikai area under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District.
The security forces arrested one active member of KCP (Noyon), Huidrom Sunder Singh alias Sanathoi (39) of Sekta Awang Leikai, Lamlai PS, Imphal East District, from the Checkpoint crossing near Traffic Island under Porompat-PS, Imphal East District.

He is involved in the transportation of arms and ammunitions and extortion activities from various shops located in the Mantripukhri area. From his possession, one wallet and two mobile phones were seized.
"The Manipur Police arrested one active cadre of KYKL(SOREPA), namely, Leichombam Pakpi Devi (37) of Lamjao Makha Leikai A/P Leimaram Mamang Leikai from the general area of Leimaram Mamang Leikai under Nambol-PS, Bishnupur. She is involved in extortion and in the recruitment of new cadres in the proscribed group. Two mobile phones were seized from her possession," the police said.
The security forces apprehended one individual, namely, Hensonpiek Vaiphei alias Henson (23) of Singda Kuki village under Kangchup-PS, Kangpokpi District, A/P Thingkangphai Relief Camp, Churachandpur, while extorting money from the driver of one loaded truck at IT Road near Trends Mall along NH-2 under Kangpokpi-PS, Kangpokpi District. One mobile phone was seized from his possession.
"Security forces arrested 01(one) active cadre of KYKL, namely, Moirangthem Suranjoy Meitei alias Thousinba (31) of Sagolmang Awang Leikai, Sagolmang-PS, Imphal East District from the eastern side of Lamlong Bazar under Porompat-PS, Imphal East District. One mobile phone was seized from his possession," it added.
Moreover, the security forces have arrested one active member of KCP (PWG), identified as Mangsidam Wanglen Singh (22) from Lei Ingkhol Maning Leikai under Lamphel-PS, Imphal West District.

"The arrestee was directly involved in extortion activity by serving a monetary demand letter to shop located in and around Paomei Colony area. 9 (nine) nos. of demand letters of KCP(PWG) were seized from his possession. The Manipur Police arrested one active member of KCP(PWG) from Urup Awang Leikai, under Irilbung-PS, Imphal East namely, Md. Ashadon alias Talip alias Laingam (22) of Urup Awang Leikai, Imphal East," the police said.
DGP Manipur visited Thoubal District Police and chaired a law and order meeting at Thoubal District Police Headquarters.
During the visit, he distributed a DG commendation disc with a certificate to the Manipur Police personnel of Thoubal District Police and 3IRB who had performed exceptionally well in their duties. Similar presentations were also made during the DGP's visit to Bishnupur, Churachandpur, and Kangpokpi Districts.
The meeting was attended by other senior officers of the Police Department.
110 checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hills and the valleys.
