Archana Puran Singh recently marked her 63rd birthday surrounded by her close family. As part of the cheerful gathering, the popular judge from The Great Indian Kapil Show decided to reveal a lighthearted yet “embarrassing” memory from her younger years, choosing to share it in front of her future daughter-in-law, actress Yogita Bihani.
Childhood Memory with a Doll
Archana recounted how her father once received a gift from his Italian friend—a large doll that could speak simple words like “Mama” and “Papa.” As a little girl, she became deeply attached to the doll and wanted everyone to notice it. To make that happen, she devised a playful plan. Since the family home had tall gateposts, she asked a household staff member to seat her on top of one. She would proudly sit there, clutching the doll so that everyone passing by could see.
Realization and Laughter
Looking back, Archana admitted that the people walking past may not have been paying attention to the toy at all, but rather to her unusual display. She jokingly called it a “shameful secret” from her childhood, laughing at how silly it seemed in hindsight. Her story sparked laughter around the room, especially from Yogita, who affectionately teased her by calling the doll a “Paapi gudiya.”
Family’s Playful Reaction
The moment grew even funnier when Archana confessed that she used to make the doll repeat its phrases whenever anyone passed by. She laughed at her own innocence, saying how foolish it felt now.
“Any time anyone would walk by, I would make the doll say ‘Mama’ and ‘Papa.’ Now I think, how stupid I was," she said.
Her husband, actor Parmeet Sethi, humorously added that he still finds her just as silly today, which drew even more laughter from their sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan.
Yogita Bihani’s Connection
Yogita, who is engaged to Aaryamann, is an actress recognized for her role in The Kerala Story (2023). Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film turned into a major blockbuster, earning ₹303 crore by the end of its theatrical run.
