Global music sensation Ed Sheeran has confirmed a collaboration with Indian playback singer Arijit Singh for his next album. Speaking on a recent podcast with Heart, Sheeran revealed that Singh will feature in the new project and shared insights into their time working together.
“I worked a lot with this Indian singer Arijit Singh who is really good and really wonderful,” Sheeran said during the interview. “He basically lives in the middle of nowhere in India... It’s like a three-hour flight and a five-and-a-half-hour drive. I was in India with my dad, and he [Arijit] was like, ‘If you want the vocals, you have to come to me.’”
A Musical Reunion in West Bengal
Sheeran’s visit to India earlier this year offered a glimpse of their growing friendship. During his India tour in February, the British singer visited Arijit Singh’s hometown of Jiaganj in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Photos and videos from the trip went viral, showing the two musicians enjoying scooter and boat rides together — a departure from Sheeran’s usual high-security appearances.
Despite the informal setting, the visit had professional undertones, with Sheeran reportedly spending time recording and discussing music with Singh.
A Friendship Built on Music
This collaboration builds on a musical bond that began in 2024 when Sheeran and Singh shared the stage in London. The duo performed each other’s songs during the concert, drawing praise for their vocal chemistry and mutual admiration.
Fans of both artists have since speculated about a future project, and the recent confirmation has generated excitement across international audiences.
No Release Date Yet, But Expectations Run High
While Sheeran hasn’t announced a release date for the album or detailed how many tracks Singh will be featured on, anticipation is mounting. The collaboration represents a fusion of two globally recognized voices from different musical traditions — British pop and Indian playback.
Both artists are known for their emotive singing styles and wide-ranging appeal, and their combined effort is expected to draw interest from diverse audiences.
As Sheeran continues to tease details about his new album, fans can look forward to hearing what this cross-cultural partnership brings to the table.
