Mutual fund SIP inflows witnessed a marginal decline of 1% on monthly basis to Rs 28,265 crore in August compared to Rs 28,464 crore in July.
Mutual fund inflows too declined by 22% to Rs 33,430 crore in August compared to Rs 42,702 crore in July. In August 2024, the inflows were recorded at Rs 38,239 crore.
On a monthly basis, inflows fell across most categories, except large cap, mid cap, and flexi cap funds, which saw growth of 33%, 3%, and 0.3%, respectively.
Debt mutual funds recorded an outflow of Rs 7,979 crore in August, reversing July’s Rs 1.06 lakh crore inflow. Outflows hit most sub-categories, barring overnight, ultra-short, low-duration, money market, short-duration, medium-duration, and 10-year gilt funds.
Liquid funds saw the steepest outflow of Rs 13,350 crore in August, while gilt funds followed with withdrawals of Rs 928 crore during the month.
However, passive funds like ETFs and index funds, saw a 38% jump in monthly inflows, rising to Rs 11,436 crore in August from Rs 8,259 crore in July.
