Rainfall is predicted in these regions of Tamil Nadu
The weather department said that a cyclonic circulation that has already formed in the Bay of Bengal is extending from the Marathwada region to the Gulf of Mannar, across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Due to this weather system, light rainfall is predicted in Chennai.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in the Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam and Karaikal districts of Tamil Nadu. Rainfall is also predicted in Viluppuram, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram and Puchucherry. The weather department said it could lead to situations like waterlogging and traffic congestion in some areas of the state.
