Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav led a grand Tiranga Yatra on Monday ahead of Independence Day with the Gwalior city streets adorned in tricolor decorations.
The yatra began at 3 p.m. from Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Tiraha in the city center and concluded at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University.
The procession passed through key landmarks including the SP Office, Tansen Hotel Tiraha, Gandhi Road, and Akashvani. From 2 p.m. the atmosphere was already vibrant with patriotic and cultural performances setting the tone for the event.
Several groups joined the march including the Army, Police Force, NCC cadets, ex-servicemen, school students, public representatives, social organizations and local citizens. Hundreds of bikers carrying the national flag added more colors in the event.
Along the route, rangoli art, floral decorations and children dressed as freedom fighters became major attractions which drawn appreciation from the crowds.
The event showcased not only the spirit of freedom but also India’s cultural richness with multiple stages hosting colorful programs dedicated to patriotism and heritage.

After the Tiranga Yatra, CM Yadav attended the Ekatma Manav Darshan Diamond Jubilee Celebration at Dattopant Thengadi Auditorium, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University, as the chief guest.
Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya and Prahlad Patel, former Governor Captain Singh Solanki and senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh functionaries were also present.
The Chief Minister praised the overwhelming public participation and emphasised that such events not only honour the nation’s independence but also inspire unity and devotion towards the country. The day ended with Gwalior proudly wrapped in the tint of the tricolor.
