A memorandum was submitted with the Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner, for the implementation of a 24x7 “Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance Service” across all urban primary health centers under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).
In the memorandum, Belapur resident and social worker Dipali Gholap highlighted the urgent need for ambulances equipped with advanced medical facilities to handle critical emergencies. She stated that ALS ambulances, with their capacity to offer timely and high-quality treatment, are essential for transferring critically ill patients to municipal hospitals or dedicated mother and child care hospitals. “This service will be crucial in strengthening the healthcare facilities for the citizens of Navi Mumbai. It will bring positive changes to their quality of life,” said the president of the Saksham Mahila Udyojak Parishad, Gholap.
The activist emphasized that the service should be operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. She called for the deployment of ALS ambulances at every urban primary health center, staffed with trained medical professionals and equipped with modern life-saving equipment, including oxygen support.
She also urged the municipal administration to allocate adequate funds and manpower to ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of the service.
