BBC Saturday Kitchen fans issue plea after show halted by Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood

Viewers of Saturday Kitchen agreed that this week's episode was pure "mayhem," yet they pleaded with the show bosses to bring back star Craig Revel Horwood.

The situation quickly escalated as Craig, food critic Tom Parker Bowles, wine connoisseur Helen McGinn, chef Nisha Parmar, and host Matt indulged in cocktails crafted by Carmen O'Neal.

Carmen put a unique spin on traditional cocktails, introducing savoury elements to typically sweet drinks. These drinks were a hit with everyone, particularly Craig, who was a big fan of the carrot Bloody Mary.

After enjoying some paired wines and a few cocktails, Craig was ready to find out if viewers had voted for his food heaven or hell. He was shocked to discover that 65 percent of fans had chosen his food heaven, a prawn thermidor tart. The judge was now overflowing with enthusiasm, reports .

He told Matt: "Carmen's cocktails are lethal," before Helen interjected to ask Craig if he would perform a duet with her. She proposed: "Can I just say that on your next album, please? Can you do I Know Him So Well? If you need someone to do the other duet part with you, I'm just saying?"

Craig interrupted her, raising his glass in the air, and declared: "I've got my Verdicchio (white wine) now, darling, so I am ready to go," before the pair spontaneously burst into song live on-air.

After their shared performance, Craig confidently declared: "Ohh darling, we are so doing that [on his new Revelations tour]," as Matt added: "We are so delivering to the nation this morning," triggering an outburst of laughter in the studio.

"I loved it," the host exclaimed while the guest from Strictly suggested adding another star to the mix: "We can get Motsi [Mabuse]; she said she'd do a rap for me, she loves singing, so come on, she's on it."

In a moment of banter, Helen questioned Matt's involvement, leading Craig to confirm with a smile: "Matt's going to dance." The lighthearted atmosphere continued when Matt presented Tom Parker-Bowles with his prawn tart dish, jokingly instructing him: "Hand that to royalty, and he will grill it."

Craig then smoothly approached Tom, playfully offering himself up, saying, "I'll be your Queen, darling. Do you want me to get the premade one out of the oven?" Tom directed him to check with the host.

Chaos and further laughter enveloped the studio, leading Matt to clap loudly for attention before trying to get things back on track on the show. He said abruptly: "Anyway, let's recap."

Amid the ongoing studio shenanigans, Matt attempted to maintain control while explaining his culinary technique. However, things took a turn when Craig intervened at his chopping board to demonstrate some impressive knife skills that seemed to make the host uneasy.

He told him: "That goes right through me." Despite the mayhem, viewers thoroughly enjoyed the chaotic episode, flocking to X (formerly ) to plead for Craig's return to the show "every week."

One fan wrote: "Keep plying Revel Horwood with booze. Best #SaturdayKitchen 10 mins I've seen for months. Another added: "Someone please transport me to the Saturday Kitchen studio, there's a lot of fun to be had there this morning."

A third viewer commented: "@CraigRevHorwood has been a complete delight. Fabulous watch. Bring him on every week #SaturdayKitchen," while a fourth agreed: "That's the best show, hilarious #SaturdayKitchen."
