Haunting true crime documentary leaves Netflix viewers 'unable to sleep'

A haunting true crime documentary is so scary Netflix fans are unable to sleep.

House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths is available to viewers on the streaming giant, but many are "still haunted" by the three-part series.

First released in 2021, the docuseries takes viewers back to 2018 with one of India's most notorious cases.

At the time, 11 family members were found dead in their home, sparking a major police investigation.

It was previously reportedthat their brutal deaths appeared to baffle police officers by the horrific way their bodies were found, as well as several "spiritual" handwritten notes.

The chilling documentary, rated aged 18, explores the shocking case, the national frenzy and media pressures as well as a deeper dive into the family's history and "dark secrets", with exclusive interviews.

Netflix teases: "Suicide, murder - or something else? This documentary series examines chilling truths and theories around the deaths of 11 members of a Delhi family."

Despite its older release date back in 2021, it continues to shock viewers across the world, delving into a huge case that rocked the nation. It even has a warning at the start of the episodes as "viewer discretion is advised."

On IMDB, one fan called it "spine-chilling", adding: "It's a 3-episode mind-numbing documentary that should be seen and discussed as much as we can."

Another commented: "A truly disturbing true crime story of the deaths of an entire family. The documentary was well made and interviewed the relevant parties. Though the last episode focused heavily on psychology and speculation, the first two episodes were utterly captivating."

A third echoed: "This had me hooked within the first 20 minutes. I can't believe this is a true story - so very sad and mind boggling."

Over on Facebook earlier this month, one person wrote in the Netflix Bangers group they "felt so disturbed" as another replied: "I didn’t sleep for days it was like a nightmare."

A third commented: "I lost sleep over this it still haunts me.."

A Rotten Tomatoes reviewer added: "A really gripping documentary that gets you right at the start. For a fan of true crime/occult/paranormal - this may just be one of the best case presentations to exist.

"It keeps you thinking for a while. The production is high-quality which is just another plus to an already gripping case."
