Helen Flanagan cuts asking price on huge mansion after revealing sad reason for move

Former Celebs Go Dating star Helen Flanagan has now reduced the price of the mansion that she once shared with Scott Sinclair after putting it on the market. It's said to be the second time the price has dropped in just four months.

Helen, 35, had announced her plans to move house on a podcast released in April after four years at the property near Bolton. She had initially lived there with Scott, 36, and their three children, prior to the couple's split in 2022.

The former Coronation Street actress revealed at the time that she would be "downsizing" and having a fresh start, with her admitting that the home was "a lot to like keep on top of". The house has since been on the market.

Earlier this week, the asking price was reduced to £995,000. The property, which is advertised as having six bedrooms, was last sold for £840,000 in 2021, but Helen previously said: "I put a lot of my savings into doing the house up and stuff, and making it look really beautiful."

According to the Daily Mail, Helen put the property on the market in May. The update this week is said to be the second time that she's reduced the price of the £1.5 million mansion since putting it up for sale four months ago.

The outlet reports that she first reduced it to around £1.2 million four weeks later. It speculates that, after taxes and legal fees, she's set to "barely break even" after buying the house for £840,000 four years ago.

Helen recently dismissed the suggestion that she is selling the home due to financial issues. She's previously discussed experiencing financial difficulties and said in January that she was "really struggling", but she's since told the Mirror that she needed a "fresh start" by living elsewhere.

Last month, she told us: "I'm not in a financial crisis. I'm moving because I really need a fresh start. Scott surprised me with this house and it was always supposed to be our happy family home. And it wasn't that." She said: "I hate to sound depressing, but there is a sadness in this house."

Helen announced her plans to move house on Podcast earlier this year. She on an episode released in April: "I think it will be better for me, actually, to be honest with you, to live in a small house because I think it might be more manageable for me."

The soap star, who described it as an eight bedroom house at the time, said that her home was a "big house". She said: "I feel really lucky to to live here - well, soon to have lived here - because it is gorgeous but it's a lot to like keep on top of."

Helen - who has spoken about her mental health in recent years, as well as financial difficulties - suggested that she wanted "a change". She said on the podcast: "I feel like I want like a change because, even though everything's great now, it's been a really kind of quite heavy few years for me."
