Micah Richards storms off Champions League studio set as star says 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry'

Inter Milan front man Marcus Thuram left red-faced after the dust settled on Wednesday's action. So bad was the burn, in fact, that the champion had to take himself off the CBS set in despair.

The punditry trio of Richards, and interviewed Thuram after his side reached the Champions League semi-finals. A 2-2 draw at home to in the second leg was enough to win 4-3 on aggregate and set up another two-legged showdown with .

France international Thuram - whose father, Lilian, played alongside Henry and won the with him in 1998 - is known to call the legend "Uncle." And the Nerazzurri star clarified why this is at Richards' behest before talk turned to the fashion choices in the studio.

"Thierry, you have a very, very, very nice suit tonight," said the 27-year-old without prompt. And it was then that Carragher interrupted by asking Thuram what he thought about the suits he and Richards had on.

The pair stood up from behind the studio desk so the Inter forward could get a better look. But his assessment of their attire was far from what Richards had hoped for.

Thuram confirmed he could see both the English duo but remarked that Micah's get-up looked "a bit tight." And that was enough to send Richards over the edge as he immediately stormed off stage.

Henry and Carragher could hardly believe their ears as the former applauded the jibe from his 'nephew'. Though in Carragher's case, he may have simply been pleased he managed to avoid a similar evisceration.

To Thuram's credit, he at least attempted to diffuse the tension by pulling Richards back into the conversation. The Frenchman offered up his apologies as he asked: "Why is it always you, Micah? I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

And Micah was quick to agree as he replied: "Why always me? I can't catch a break."

It's not unusual for the former and defender to find himself at the butt of the joke in his broadcasting work. However, those jibes usually come from his colleagues and less so the talent.

Not that Thuram appeared to care for such barriers as he didn't blink before taking aim at his interviewer. And it may not be the last we see of their budding rivalry should Thuram and Inter make it further along in the Champions League.

Simone Inzaghi's men will open their semi-final tie with a trip to Barcelona on April 30. And Thuram - the Nerazzurri's top Serie A scorer this season on 14 goals - will be hoping to finally hit his stride in Europe after netting just three Champions League goals so far this campaign.
