Eve's picks:
New TALA trench coat - £189
Anyone who follows Grace Beverly on social media will have joined me in doing a silent scream of joy when she was spotted wearing this brand-newTALA trench coat, which launched on Thursday. Offering a reversible design, with one side decorated in a stone hue while the other is 'true black'. The Longline Reversible Trench - Beige / True Black costs £189 and is designed with a contrast collar and press stud closure, which travels from the collar to the hem.
Just like traditional trench coats,TALA's offeringcomes with a tie waist belt, side pockets and a slight slit at the back to allow for ample movement. One great detail is that the coat is water-repellent - a necessity for a coat in the UK, and can effectively elevate any wintery outfit.
Although the only drawback I can see at a glance is that it may not be as cosy when the temperatures go into minus figure - but adding a jumper underneath may help that issue.
With a reversible make-up, the TALA jacket competes with the likes of Aligne's Barnaby Reversible Trench Coat, £189, as well as Damson Madder's reversible Jerry crop trench coat, £145.
Damson Madder Bibi scarf in merino wool blend - £70
It's officially chunky cardigan weather and, soon enough, we'll need to get our scarves and hats out to keep our necks cosy. One trend that is returning for winter 2025 is the cardigan-scarflook that I just think is so chic, seamlessly stylish and a gorgeous option for the wintery months - especially when you just want to bundle up in your cosiest gear without resembling the Michelin man.
Last year, I fell in love with Mango's Striped Cardigan Scarf, which is unfortunately no longer in stock at Mango and so when I spotted Damson Madder's Bibi Scarf, which matches perfectly to itsBibi Boxy Merino Wool Reversible Cardigan, £120, it immediately went on my wintery wishlist.
The scarf itself is a gorgeous option to wear with the cardigan or on its own and comes in a navy, red and light pink striped pattern that truly stands out. Finished off with the brand's signature DM embroidery, the scarf is made from a certified responsible wool standard merino wool blend, making it 'soft' and super warm.
My only gripe is that it is quite expensive for a scarf - at £70 - although its merino wool make-up may help justify the cost. For something a little more affordable, Oliver Bonashas a multi-coloured striped scarf for £39.50, while Urban Outfitters' UO Courtney Stripe Skinny Scarf is more earthy with its burgundy stripe and costs £24.
UKLash Tubing Mascara - £16
As someone whose natural lashes are relatively underwhelming, I'm always after a mascara that can help me achieve longer-looking, panoramic lashes. Even better when a mascara can nourish them whilst lifting them. So you can imagine my excitement when UKLash - the brand behind theaward-winning lash serum that's loved by The Summer I Turned Pretty's Lola Tung - launched its latestTubing mascara. Promising a 'smudge-proof' formula, it uses 'lash-wrapping polymers and a precision pine cone wand' to deliver luscious-looking lashes that are MUA-approved.
The mascara comes in two shades, black and mocha, and is infused with Arginine and Shea Butter for added nutrients. Plus, the brand claims the mascara 'slides off' easily and needs just a bit of warm water to come off. Despite having recently launched, the mascara has already accrued an impressive 4.9 star rating, with one shopper saying: "I've tried so many mascaras over the years, so I didn't know what to expect with this one - but WOW - my new favourite! It goes on so easily with instant volume, no smudges throughout the day, and comes off easily at night. I've been using Complex Peptide Lash Serum for 2 months now. This combined with Tubing Mascara has transformed my lashes.
"I chose the Mocha shade as I have blue eyes and feel it's a bit more natural." While some people found the wand to be 'not sturdy enough', another raved: "This mascara gave me the longest lashes I’ve ever had! It doesn’t look clumpy, plus it’s super easy to remove at the end of the day with just water. I also get quite oily eyelids, and it doesn’t smudge at all! 10/10." With payday in touching distance, you best believethis new UKLASH Tubing mascara is going straight into my basket to compete with my current obsession: Iconic London's Triple Threat Mascara. Especially since it's on sale for £11.20 currently.
New Origins Cleansing Balm - £29
I love a cleansing balm. Somehow, it makes cleaning my face, ridding it of makeup, SPF and more, a super luxurious experience that is enjoyable at the end of the day. Even more so when it smells divine. While my number one has always beenElemis' Pro Collagen cleansing balm, its £52 price tag often makes me wince. However, Origins has recently launched itsYouthtopia Apple Butter Cleansing Balm that costs a little less at £29 and has been enticing me with reviews sharing how it has a 'pleasant subtle natural fruity apple aroma' - which is perfect for the autumnal season.
Made with omega-rich Apple Seed Oil and Shea Butter,it claims to melt makeup - 'including waterproof mascara' - and purify skin without drying or stripping, which is essential during colder weather. Like most cleansing balms, it transforms from a balm to a liquid to a lightweight milk and comes packed in a squeeze tube and flip cap, which makes dispensing it much easier, which mirror's the design of The Inkey List's Oat Cleansing Balm.
One person who loved this new release from Originssaid: "This is undoubtedly the best cleanser I've ever owned. It works wonders for dry skin, leaving it clean and hydrated. Its unique, oily texture is something I particularly enjoy. I incorporate it into my daily skincare routine, morning and night, and my skin has never looked better."
Although some people did note how they didn't get on with the cleanser, stating: "It felt way too thick on my skin and left this weird filmy residue around my eyes that I couldn't ignore."
Columbia Women's Amaze Puff™ Mid Hooded Down Puffer - £235With the cold weather well and truly settling in, a puffer jacket is an essential part of any winter wardrobe. Columbia is one brand whose puffer jackets offer a 'duvet' feel and its Amaze Puff Mid Hooded Down Puffers have an 'extremely warm' make-up with its 650 fill power down and Omni-Shield technology.
While it may not be best in a thunderstorm - with a 'Drizzle' water rating - it does provide coverage from rain with its water and stain-repellent finish and adjustable hood, while its fleece lining adds another level of protection from the chill. It also comes with zippered hand pockets and an interior security pocket for safe storage of essentials.
The jacket comes in sizes XS to XL and inthree colours: safari, dark stone and black. One fun element of the jacket, too, is that it has removable interior straps that let you carry the coat on your back when temperatures rise, which is very handy, especially on walks.
While there aren't any reviews, the coat does have a relatively hefty price tag. At £235, it's certainly an investment piece. But from the sounds of it, it should last a long time.
Bethan's pick:
Melora Restorative Mānuka Balm - £19.99
We’ve hit the point in the year where a combination of the dipping outdoor temperatures and central heating is wreaking havoc on my skin. But thankfully, I’ve discovered a do-it-all balm that has quickly become a handbag essential: the Melora Restorative Mānuka Balm.
This £19.99 balm can be used as a lip balm, cuticle treatment, dry skin remedy, or hair-smoothing elixir, working to soften, soothe, and protect against dryness and irritation. Now, I’ve tried countless products that offer similar claims in the past, from Dr PawPaw to Elizabeth Arden, but Melora’s is by far my favourite.
The solid formula comes in a handy pot that’s small enough to take on-the-go, which I much prefer to a tube. It melts ever so slightly with the warmth from your finger as you swirl it on the top, delivering enough product to apply to affected dry areas. It provides immediate relief without any sticky residue and doesn’t feel as though it needs to be constantly reapplied either.
I also appreciate the refreshingly short ingredients list, with no unnecessary fillers or synthetic additives - just a selection of natural oils like sweet almond and jojoba, paired with Mānuka honey and Vitamin E, so I know it won’t irritate my sensitive skin, either. This is the definition of a hidden gem.
Jess' Picks:
H&M Lace-Trimmed Satin Dress - £40
Lace trims are big news this season and I love how versatile this pink lace dress from H&M is. It could be worn alone with a leather jacket and boots to toughen it up, or worn layered with a knit over the top with the detailing peeking through the bottom.
My one drawback with this is that it’s strappy so not easy to wear a bra with and the material is thin going into the cooler season so it’ll need some styling to make it autumn appropriate.
Despite this, the light pink colour will team well with browns and creams for autumn and the dress can be worn well into other seasons too, with or without a jacket. Similar styles across the high street have been selling fast including M&S' longer-length £46 Satin Lace V-Neck Midaxi Slip Dress, which is already sold out in some sizes.
Glossier Balm Dotcom Lip Balm - £16.00
Glossier’s Balm Dotcom lip balms are super hydrating and feel glossy on the lips, making them ideal for autumn. I always tend to get dry lips as the seasons change, especially as I like to wear a lip colour and gloss everyday too. With their semi-sheer colours that can easily be layered over lipsticks, the Glossier balms are the ideal gloss/balm hybrid.
I usually opt for pinks on the lips but am intrigued by the banana pudding scentwhich is exclusive to beauty retailer Space NK. I like that that’ll add a slick of moisture to the lips without interfering too much with my lipstick of choice.
One drawback for some is that the balms are scented, which I personally like, but I know some may not. However, there are plenty of varieties to choose from, from black cherry and strawberry to espresso, and the balms are multi-purpose too.
Keeping with the dessert theme, I'm also lusting after the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in the scent Brown Sugar which retails for £23, also at Space NK.
New Balance 530 Trainers in Off White and Beige - £100
I live in my navy New Balance 530 trainers for running errands and they’re the comfiest trainers I own. I’m currently thinking of adding the brown version to my wardrobe to give my outfits an autumnal update.
At £100 from ASOS, like many trainers they’re not cheap, but the cost-per-wear I’ve had out of my navy ones means I think they’re worth the splurge. They’ve cleaned up well after plenty of walks, and team well with joggers, leggings, and more. I’m also able to walk longer distances in them and they’ve never once rubbed or given me blisters, which is an issue I often find as I’ve got narrow feet.
One slight drawback is that they're a chunky sporty style, which means they aren't as versatile in terms of outfits as some other trainers I own. I've also got my eye on the Adidas Originals Samba OG Trainers in cream and burgundy, which have been cut from £95 to £76 at ASOS.
