US President Donald Trump has recently caught public attention, not for his political moves, but for his right hand. During speeches from the Oval Office, he has been seen covering it with his left hand.
According to reports in the British newspaper The Mirror, a noticeable dark purple mark has appeared on his palm over the past few weeks. Although the White House and his doctors maintain that it is not serious, this has sparked public curiosity.
White House Explanation
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt explained that the mark is not linked to any major health problem. She noted that Trump’s busy schedule, which includes frequent handshakes with world leaders, puts pressure on the veins of his hands.
Additionally, Trump takes daily aspirin for heart health. This blood-thinning medication can make minor injuries or scratches appear darker and linger longer, which likely explains the persistent discoloration on his palm.
Trump’s Existing Health Condition
In July, the White House disclosed that Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which blood flow in the veins slows down. This condition, common in people over 70, is also the reason his ankles often appear swollen.
In short, the blue mark on Trump’s right hand is likely the result of a minor injury combined with vein issues and medication, rather than any serious illness.
