Beat The Chasers has welcomed a new face - but their identity has been hidden by a mask. In a brand new episode on Sunday evening (October 19), host Bradley Walsh tried getting to know the latest addition to the quizzer panel, who wore a suit covered in red question marks with a mask to match covering their face and a bowler hat.
The hit ITV gameshow series sees contestants take on the Chasers in a bid to win big money and it's currently airing its seventh season. Normally the panel is made up of Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Darragh Ennis but tonight's show saw 'Maverick' join the show, replacing a temporarily absent Darragh. Making their identity even more of a mystery, the new Chaser even used a voice disguiser. It comes as show fans have been swift to voice their predictions about Maverick's identity with many pointing the finger at comedian Jasper Carrott - who is best known for shows such as Carrott's Commercial Breakdown, The Detectives and the legendary quiz show Golden Balls.
"Convinced it's Jasper Carrott!" exclaimed one viewer. Another contributed: "It's Jasper Carrot." A third weighed in: "I'll be shocked if it's not Jasper Carrott."
However, the show left fans guessing throughout the episode until a major reveal right at the very end. In a spectacular moment, the guest Chaser dropped the mask and disguised voice to reveal their true self - and fans couldn't believe it.
The huge moment revealed that the Chaser was comedian Joe Pasquale - much to everyone's surprise. Bradley exclaimed: "I should have twigged! You got all of the ones about the rocks. He's a geologist! He's actually a qualified geologist."

Joe described his time on the show as "an absolute honour" as he joked: "I'm like Artificial Intelligence, but without the intelligence!"
Fans at home admitted that they "never would have guessed". One posted: "#BeatTheChasers #OMG! #JoePasquale is #TheMaverick! I never would have guessed that! Good thing they disguised his voice lol. He was actually really clever as well. Nice one!"
Another said: "That was a genuinely great reveal though. I can't believe it was Joe Pasquale! He did so well to keep up with the other Chasers as he seemed like a professional quizzer. #BeatTheChasers." While a third added: " Joe Pasquale?? So random #BeatTheChasers."
Beat the Chasers airs Sundays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
