A content creator has shared a to take your everyday breakfasts to the next level, making the likes of yoghurt bowls even tastier. Darcie Ratcliff revealed just how easy granola clusters are to make at home, and you only need a handful of ingredients too.
In a video from March, Darcie detailed her take on homemade granola, which she said is "perfect" for breakfast. Granola can be packed full of , including protein, fibre, as well as micronutrients such as iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, selenium, B vitamins, and vitamin E. Generally, granola with more dried fruits or added sweetener is higher in sugar, nut- and seed-based varieties are higher in protein, and those with more whole grains are higher in fibre.

As granola tends to be high in protein and fibre, it can leave you feeling fuller for longer.

So if you're looking to swap out your shop-bought granola for your own customised homemade granola, this is what you'll need.
Homemade granolaIngredients
- 270g rolled oats
- 3 tbsp soft light brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- ¼ tsp salt
- Seeds/nuts/dried fruit (optional add ins)
- 200g honey
- 52g vegetable oil
Method
In a large mixing bowl, add the rolled oats, salt, cinnamon, the sugar, and any of the seeds, nuts or dried fruit you want to add in. Give it a good stir to make sure the ingredients are combined.
In another bowl squeeze in the honey and pour in the vegetable oil. Place in the microwave for around 30 seconds until it's slightly warm.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until completely combined. Pour the granola into a lined baking tin.
Press the granola mixture down with the back of a spoon or with damp fingers. Bake in the oven at 150 for 20 to 30 minutes or until the granola is golden brown.
Leave it to cool completely. Once cooled, break up the granola into clusters with a rolling pin or with your hands.
Darcie explained the mixture can be kept in a sealed container for up to month, stored in a cool dry place.
