produced an unbelievable extra-time comeback to down Lyon and book their spot in the semi-finals. The Red Devils blew a two-goal lead, went two goals down themselves and then turned the contest completely on its head by netting in the 114th, 120th and 121st minute in a grandstand finish at Old Trafford.
Lyon looked on course to dish out a humiliating defeat after going 4-2 up with 10 men, but United found another gear to spark bedlam in the stands and cap off a remarkable game which had goals, penalties, a red card and non-stop drama. Here, Express Sport takes you through how each Red Devils player performed on the night...
Man Utd player ratings vs Lyon (3-4-3)Andre Onana: 7
Fantastic save to deny Rayan Cherki, and then again to thwart Corentin Tolisso in the second half. Celebrated United's opener in front of the goading Lyon fans. Conceded twice in the second half, and twice more in extra-time, but still a positive return to the side overall.
Noussair Mazraoui: 5 (Shaw, 45)
Barely noticeable during his 45 minutes on the pitch.
Harry Maguire: 9
Long ball early in the game found Alejandro Garnacho, and one later in the game provided the assist for Diogo Dalot. Was also a danger in the opposition box and came up with countless blocks. Brought the house down with a 121st-minute header, which was what his performance merited.
Leny Yoro: 4
Solid night on the ball but a terrible one off it. He let a cross go through him by trying a back-heel clearance which nearly led Ainsley Maitland-Niles to score. Then lost Tolisso for the goal that halved the deficit, and was in no man's land for Cherki's extra-time strike.

Diogo Dalot: 7
Fantastic ball over the top which Bruno Fernandes volleyed off the crossbar, and produced a tidy finish off the post in first-half stoppage time. Was caught out of position in the attack which led to Lyon's first goal in extra-time.
Manuel Ugarte: 7 (Mount, 86)
Forged an effective partnership with Casemiro until 70 minutes. Did his defensive work and coolly converted Garnacho's cross.
Casemiro: 9
Forced a top save from Lucas Perri after finding space in the box. Played his part in build-up while United were on top. Won the penalty that pulled one back in extra-time and assisted both of United's last two goals.
Patrick Dorgu: 4 (Amass, 100)
Too many mistakes. Wasteful with a shot on the counter-attack, and then with another just before the hour mark. Played an unfortunate role in the first two goals United conceded. Beaten in the air by Moussa Niakhate in the lead-up to Corentin Tolisso's, and then lost Maitland-Niles at the back post in the lead-up to Nicolas Tagliafico's.
Alejandro Garnacho: 8 (Eriksen, 100)
Top-class touch and assist for Ugarte's opener. Played with confidence, dragged the team forward and offered relentless pace in behind.
Rasmus Hojlund: 8 (Mainoo, 86)
Didn't get on the scoresheet but this was one of his best outings in a United shirt. Hold-up play was fantastic, barely made a mistake and created good chances for Fernandes and Garnacho.
Bruno Fernandes: 7
Nearly scored two screamers, having smashed the bar on the volley and come within a whisker from 25 yards. Scored from the spot in extra-time.

Luke Shaw: 5
Just as quiet as Mazraoui, the man he replaced, until his bad tackle on Malick Fofana led to the penalty which made it 4-2.
Kobbie Mainoo: 7
Came on as a striker and got the extra-time equaliser with a very tidy finish.
Mason Mount: 5
Didn't offer much off the bench.
Harry Amass: N/A
A late addition.
Christian Eriksen: N/A
A late addition.
