Manchester United are set to bolster their goalkeeping ranks with the £18.2million signing of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, but have no plans for any departures in that department on transfer deadline day. The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper is already at United's Carrington training complex finalising his move ahead of the 7pm cut-off.
However, the Red Devils have remained tight-lipped over whether Lammens will be installed as the club's new No. 1 following Andre Onana's omission from the starting line-up for the weekend victory against Burnley. Altay Bayindir has been between the sticks for all three of United's Premier League matches this season, largely due to Onana's absence from pre-season training because of a hamstring injury.
Onana is expected to stay at the club, however, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Bayindir, who arrived at Old Trafford two years ago from Fenerbahce in a deal worth £4.3m, was culpable for goals conceded in the opening weekend defeat to Arsenal and Saturday's win over Burnley.
Onana found himself relegated to the bench after his blunders contributed to Grimsby Town's shock 2-0 lead in their stunning League Cup second-round elimination of United last week.
Despite initially not viewing a new goalkeeper as a summer transfer window priority, head coach Ruben Amorim's stance appears to have shifted in light of Onana's inconsistent performances.

Meanwhile, third-choice keeper Tom Heaton, 39, hasn't featured since February 2023 and looks set to remain on the sidelines this season following Lammens' arrival and a limited fixture list. With no cup action until the FA Cup third round in January, United could play as few as 40 matches in the 2025-26 campaign.
The transfer window for the major European leagues shuts on Monday, but the Saudi Pro League's deadline isn't until September 10.
It's still unclear whether United will receive any offers for Onana or Bayindir after Monday. Despite Onana, 29, being keen to stay at United, his future remains uncertain.
Lammens, who earned his first Belgium call-up in March, is not included in their squad for this month's World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Kazakhstan. However, Onana and Bayindir have been selected for the Cameroon and Turkey squads respectively.
