appeared to make a dig at the Royal Family as an old blog post of hers resurfaced. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, recently , As Ever, following trademark complications with the original name, American Riviera Orchard.
The new venture promises a wide range of luxury products, from fruit preserves and candles to homewares and beauty items. But as Meghan announced her fresh start, past comments from her have resurfaced, and one particular dig during a rant about the Princess of Wales is sparking questions.
In a 2014 post, years before she met Prince Harry, Meghan reflected on the media frenzy around William and Kate's 2011 royal wedding, writing in an eight-word dig: "Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy."
She added: "Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate."
This rant could easily be interpreted as a subtle yet sharp swipe at the fairy tale narrative often associated with the monarchy.
At the time, Meghan was starring in Suits and running her lifestyle blog, where she wrote about food, travel, fashion and her views on empowerment.
Her post contrasted the fascination with royal weddings with her own childhood admiration for strong, independent female characters like She-Ra, "a sword-wielding royal rebel."
Now, as she reenters the lifestyle space with As Ever, Meghan has hinted at reclaiming her voice. "I haven't been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years," she said in a launch video, alluding to the restrictions she faced as a working royal.
The brand reboot comes just weeks ahead of her new Netflix show With Love, Meghan, and follows Prince Harry's bombshell claims in Spare, including tensions between Meghan and Kate in the run-up to the Sussexes' 2018 wedding.
With her new venture, Meghan appears to be rewriting her post-royal narrative, but her past palace tensions are once again making headlines.
