After blazing heat has taken hold of the UK, a huge storm could be on the way in August. Maps show the weather will change towards the end of the month with rain and wind forecast for August 30. At midnight on Saturday, August 30, weather maps predict rain will make its way across from the west, covering Northern Ireland and Wales.
The rain is then forecast to make its way over to the UK with Manchester, Gloucester, Shrewsbury and Liverpool set to see showers. Maps from WXCHARTS show the storm will stretch from Inverness to Cardiff - 553 miles - with large portions of the UK to see stormy conditions.

At 6pm, on Saturday August 30, maps show up to 5mm of rain per hour will fall in some regions of the UK.
The hardest hit areas will be in Wales, along with Manchester in England. In the north of England, rain levels will range from between 0.6mm to 3mm of rainfall per hour. In the south, conditions look to be drier.
On Sunday, August 31 at 6am, temperatures look to be chillier, with temperatures of around 8C to 12C expected.
A Met Office forecast said: "Confidence in the details through this period is low.
"However, low pressure and therefore unsettled or changeable weather looks more likely, and with this comes the potential for stronger winds at times as well.
"Whether this takes the form of further low pressure systems running in from the Atlantic, or a rather more slowly evolving weather pattern is less clear. Temperatures are likely be near to above average overall."
The Met Office has revealed through a study that summer 2025 has been far from ordinary.
It says the UK is likely to see more frequent and intense heatwaves and it highlights how UK heatwaves could become longer and hotter due to escalating climate trends.
The weather experts add that there is an estimated 50-50 chance of seeing 40C again in the UK in the next 12 years.
