Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra often makes headlines and sometimes for wrong reasons as well but recently he made serious allegations against a promoter of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals.
On May 29, Raj Kundra took to his official LinkedIn account to announce a major upcoming revelation, claiming he possesses financial documents implicating a prominent promoter of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals in serious misconduct.
According to Raj Kundra, the evidence he plans to reveal involves hidden financial transactions, money laundering via offshore entities and intentional suppression of rights owed to co-promoters. He emphasised that these dealings indicate a clear pattern of deceit and manipulation in shareholder matters and he intends to make everything public at a press conference scheduled for Monday, June 2.
In his LinkedIn post, Raj Kundra asserted that the truth would be evident from the documents themselves. He accompanied his announcement with an image bearing the phrase “Karma Bol” and tagged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), signaling a call for the cricket authority’s attention to the matter.
Raj Kundra along with his wife and actress Shilpa Shetty had acquired an 11.7% stake in Rajasthan Royals in 2009 for approximately $15.4 million. He officially severed ties with the franchise in 2015.
This revelation arrives at a notable time for Raj Kundra, shortly after the trailer release of The Traitors, an upcoming reality show on Amazon Prime Video in which he is a contestant. Hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar, the show features 20 celebrity participants competing for a significant cash prize, with a few selected to secretly act as ‘traitors’ attempting to eliminate the others.

Speaking at the launch event, Raj Kundra shared insights into his game plan, suggesting that his history of wearing masks could play to his advantage by preserving an air of mystery. He humorously remarked that the nature of the show suits the age of Kalyug, where trust is elusive and appearances are deceiving. He also joked about using the “nepo husband” card, referring to his marriage to a celebrity, to potentially navigate the dynamics of the competition as the host of the show is Karan Johar.
The show, set to begin streaming on June 12, includes a diverse cast of participants such as Anshula Kapoor, Karan Kundrra, Lakshmi Manchu, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chabbra, Apoorva, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Nourouzi, Harsh Gujral, Raftaar, Sahil Salathia, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sufi Motiwala, Jannat Zubair, Janvi Gaur, Jasmine Bhasin, Nikita Luther, Purav Jha and Uorfi Javed.
