Shillong: The High Court of Meghalaya organized a day-long programme on the subject "Judiciary and the Media, Local and Customary Laws under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya" at the court auditorium here on Saturday with Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India as the chief guest on the occasion.
Justice Kant delivered an address on "Optimizing Court Appearance: Harmonizing Physical, Virtual and Hybrid Mode with Live Streaming Restrictions."
Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, former Lokpal and former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, was present as the guest of honour.
Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice IP Mukerji, Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court for the State of Telangana, Justice HS Thangkhiew, and Justice W Diengdoh, Judges of the High Court of Meghalaya were present.
"The programme fostered meaningful dialogue on the evolving relationship between the judiciary, media, and the unique legal traditions under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya," an official release said.
