Jaipur: A 35-year-old woman filed a complaint alleging she was gang-raped by three men who lured her with the promise of a councillor ticket in municipal elections. The woman alleged that the incident took place at a hotel on Station Road under the Sindhi Camp police station on April 9, and she filed an FIR for the same Saturday.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman said she was a long-time member of a political party and was introduced to a man named Bablu, who claimed to have strong connections with the party leadership. The accused allegedly invited her to a hotel meeting to discuss the councillor ticket candidature.
Upon arriving at the hotel in the evening, the woman claimed she found the accused with two other men, identified as Wasim and Munna. The complainant stated that Bablu also arranged a loudspeaker conversation with an MLA, who mentioned being at an event. After asking her to wait for another call, the accused allegedly drugged her food and subsequently gang-raped her while she was unconscious.
The victim reported that when she regained consciousness the next morning and protested, the accused threatened her. She filed the complaint.
"We have called her to record her statements, and the investigation into the case is underway. A police team will be sent to the crime scene at the hotel where the alleged incident is reported to have taken place," the official said, adding that the police are also collecting digital evidence, including the entry of the accused into the hotel.
"We are also collecting CCTV footage to ascertain the movement of the accused at the crime scene," the official said.
