Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar fondly recalled his time on the sets of ‘Satte pe Satta’ while working with the veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan. The actor featured on one of the episodes of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, where a question asked by Archana Puran Singh prompted him to think about his time shooting for the popular 1982 comedy film.

Sachin Pilagaonkar talks about Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘two sides’ and shares about the actor’s moods on setSachin Pilagaonkar talked about his time filming the 1982 film ‘Satte pe Satta’. The actor recalled his time working with Amitabh Bachchan and how ‘scary’ he could get. “’Satte pe Satta’ was almost a picnic for all of us,” he shared after being hilariously asked by Archana Singh about how many times he used the word ‘Bhabi’ while shooting for the comedy film.

This also prompted him to talk about Bachchan’s habits on sets and how if the actor wanted to joke and have fun, he would wholeheartedly get involved, but when he was in a down mood, the actor could make you wonder what happened and what went wrong. He shared that “Unka mood kya hai, kab hai, kaise hai, pata nai kisi ko” (nobody knows what his mood is, when his mood is, or how his mood is).

Pilagaonkar acts out instances from his interactions with Amitabh BachchanSachin also acted out how sometimes Bachchan would enthusiastically say “Hi” to everyone and how there would be times when the actor’s personality would change completely and would only look and nod if someone greeted him.

Sachin also shared an anecdote with the veteran actor that broke the ice on set. One time he shared that Amitabh had come up to him and had said “Hi” with full energy. Sachin, though, ended up replying with “Decide karo pehle kya karna hai” (Decide first what you want to do), sending everyone in the studio laughing.

Amitabh Bachchan had then justified his behaviour by saying that sometimes he is in a bad mood. Sachin shared how he told Bachchan to wear a placard that says how he is feeling all the time. He shared that the actor should write “Aaj mera mood kharaab hai” (Today, I’m in a bad mood) and “Aaj mera mood bahut accha hai” (Today I’m in a really good mood) on the placards so people would know what he’s feeling.

Sachin then talked about how after the incident Amitabh opened up to everyone and realised that everyone on set was “badmaash” (mischievous) and that the only way to go is to become friends with everyone.

Amitabh would party all night long; Jaya Bachchan had to call to enquire about his whereaboutsPilagaonkar also talked about how during the shoots in Kashmir, even though Amitabh Bachchan used to stay in the Oberoi Palace with his wife, while the rest of the team stayed elsewhere, he would always end up in their hotel rooms. He detailed how, after packing everything up, the actor would party with the rest of the cast late into the night.

He hilariously shared that he used to have fun with everyone late into the night, while Jaya Bachchan would wonder where he went and would wait for him. Not only that, but the actor who played Amitabh Bachchan’s younger brother in ‘Satte pe Satta’ also shared how they used to prank Jaya. He shared that they used to call her up and talk in a feminine voice, telling her that Amitabh was with them. Jaya would then reply by saying that it’s okay to keep him with us only and that she does not need him, making everyone laugh as the actor recalled his days on set.

Amitabh Bachchan would be back on set earlier than everyoneSachin also shared how commendable Amitabh’s dedication was to his work. He shared that even after partying and spending time with them till 3 in the morning, he would still come on set 15 minutes early for the 7am shift and was always bright and ready.
