Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is embracing more conscious choices in her promotional and public engagements as a celebrity. The acclaimed star emphasised her growing commitment to aligning her professional decisions with her personal values—particularly when it comes to brand endorsements.
In a recent interview with Foodpharmer, Samantha opened up about her evolving mindset and revealed that she has turned down nearly 15 brand partnerships in the past year alone. Her decision stems from a desire to promote responsible messaging and make choices that positively influence society.
“When I entered this industry in my 20s, the symbol of success was based on the number of projects you had, the number of brands you endorsed, and how many brands wanted your face on their products. I was very happy that all these big multinational brands wanted me as their brand ambassador,” she recalled.

However, Samantha admitted that her perception of success has changed drastically over the years. “But today, I realise that I couldn't have been more wrong. I was almost forced to introspect on my choices, and I knew I had to follow what felt right. Today, I feel that my younger self should apologise to my older self for doing all that nonsense. That’s exactly why I want to appeal to my younger followers—not to think that they are invincible in their 20s. I have learnt the hard way that they are not! Those endorsements were done a very long time ago. I’ve said no to and let go of almost 15 brands just last year—and of course, that meant crores and crores of money lost. Now, every time there’s an endorsement, I vet my brands with three doctors before I agree to endorse them,” she revealed.
In 2022, she was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disorder that prompted her to take a temporary step back from work. She later made her return with the Telugu film Kushi, alongside Vijay Deverakonda.
She was last seen with Varun Dhawan in Citadel: Hunny Bunny, and is now busy shooting for numerous projects, including Rakht Brahmand by Raj & DK, and Maa Inti Bangaram.
