George Russell is fiercely competitive with his McLaren friend Lando Norris on the track, but off it, the two share a lighthearted friendship and enjoy having fun when they’re not racing. After securing second place on the podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix , Russell shared a series of candid photos, including one of his rival and friend, Norris, getting ready for the race.
George Russell shares behind-the-scenes pictures with Oscar Piastri , Lando NorrisGeorge Russell shared the pictures on Instagram with the caption: “ P2 in Bahrain!! Great work team, really great weekend!! Congrats to Oscar and Lando on the podium.” The behind-the-scenes pictures showed Russell holding the golden trophy in Bahrain. McLaren driver Oscar Piastri won the race and is seen posing with the trophy during a photo shoot. A picture of Norris wearing only socks and boxers while getting ready for the race is also among them, and his expression shows he was caught unawares as Russell clicked him.
Two days later, the official X page of Formula 1 shared a video clip showing the trio having a light-hearted chat on stage in Bahrain. During the conversation, Russell brought up the photo he’d posted of a shirtless Norris on his Instagram. Caught off guard, Norris looked embarrassed and was momentarily lost for words. Oscar Piastri stepped in on his behalf, joking, “George has stitched Lando up.” With a grin, Russell offered a playful explanation, saying, “The ladies will like that.”
However, F1 fans called it Russell’s revenge on Norris for dominating on the track with his McLaren. Reacting to the clip, a fan wrote, “Lando didn’t even see it coming—George pulled off the betrayal with style!” Another said, “Russell really pulled a classic F1 betrayal on Norris. Tough luck for Lando.” One more said, “Classic George! Lando never saw that coming.”
A comment also read: “Not just the ladies, George.” It seems Norris fans didn’t mind the betrayal, as a comment read: “The Lando fans were all very grateful!”
