Rockstar Games has officially released Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced for PC, with next-gen upgrades and new features coming to the platform. Released as a free upgrade for existing PC owners of GTAV, the Enhanced Edition is also now available through PC Game Pass. The release represents an important milestone in bringing the PC version into line with the visual and performance levels of its PS5 and Xbox Series X|S equivalents.
Free upgrade delivers next-gen graphics, new content, and enhanced performance
The Enhanced Edition features a set of technical enhancements and gameplay features, such as ray traced shadows and reflections, and PC-exclusive features like ray traced ambient occlusion and global illumination. It also takes advantage of newer graphics technologies like AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS, maximizing performance on a broad range of hardware.
Gamers can easily transfer both Story Mode and GTA Online activity to this revised version. High-performance cars and upgrades from Hao's Special Works, previously reserved for next-generation consoles, are now accessible on PC. With Career Progress tracking, players can now monitor their accomplishments more effectively and unlock rewards across all GTA Online updates.
PC players who already have GTAV can simply download the Enhanced Edition for free from the Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, or Epic Games Store. For new players or those returning to the game, the game is also included in the PC Game Pass library beginning April 15, 2025, through the Xbox app on PC.
GTA Online receives a boost with Career Builder and GTA+ access
The Enhanced Edition enhances the GTA Online experience, particularly for new players. New players can use the Career Builder option to select from four criminal career paths, Executive, Gunrunner, Nightclub Owner, or Biker—and receive an additional GTA$4,000,000 bonus to help them launch their empire.
In addition to this, players can now subscribe to GTA+, an elite premium subscription that provides access to special content in GTA Online and selected Rockstar games. This subscription is designed to encourage deeper, longer-term engagement and provide players with further incentives to discover Los Santos and beyond.
GTA V Enhanced delivers a polished and future-ready version of one of gaming’s most iconic titles. With visual upgrades, new content, and wider accessibility through Game Pass, Rockstar continues to keep the decade-old blockbuster feeling fresh for both veterans and newcomers alike.
