Connor McDavid ’s back for all the right reasons. One, the Edmonton Oilers have clinched their 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs spot. And two, the team spirit of the NHL players in the Edmonton Oilers is up, especially that of Corey Perry .
A reporter asked Corey Perry at the post-game conference, “Connor McDavid’s really made a difference here.” Corey Perry replied, “It’s a huge difference. He’s the best player in the world for a reason, you know. He’s come in, and he looks like Connor McDavid, and we don’t expect anything different. That’s who he is, and that’s how he plays each and every night. It’s nice to have him back, and it’s nice to have him flying like he normally does.”
“Corey Perry stuffs it in,” says a sports commentator describing how Connor McDavid assisted Corey Perry to score a goal against the San Jose Sharks
Corey Perry’s 446th career goal (69th all-time) proves to be his 78th game-winner (T-46th).

With only 22 seconds left on the powerplay, Connor McDavid assisted a score-winning goal for Corey Perry. Corey Perry stood near the San Jose Sharks goalie, patiently waiting for Connor McDavid to hand over the puck to him. And guess what? He did it! “McDavid dialing it up in front…Jam by Perry! Oh! Corey Perry stuffs it in! His 17th of the year! It’s a powerplay goal! And the Oilers regain the lead 3-2.” - the sports broadcaster explains Corey Perry’s powerplay goal, assisted by Connor McDavid, for the viewers watching the game.

39 YO Canadian professional ice hockey right winger for the Edmonton Oilers, Corey Perry, is a man of many words!
Just 13 days ago, at the Calgary Flames versus Edmonton Oilers match on 3/30/2025, while Corey Perry was on his way out of the ice hockey rink, he looked at the Calgary Flames players sitting on the bench and called them, “chicken shit”. The NHL referee behind him made sure Corey Perry went inside and did nothing further.
Social Media Coordinator for the Flames Nation, Robert Munnich, shared on his X platform the exact snippet of Corey Perry calling Calgary Flames players “chicken shit” and captioned the X post as - “Chicken Shit” - Corey Perry 🎥: Sportsnet | NHL #Flames”
X users instantly reacted to it. One X user wrote, “What a trash human”, another wrote, “The league will be better when Perry is no longer in it.”, and a third X user wrote, “Perry is most disliked player, ever. Retirement can’t come soon enough.”
