A Coarse Thread is an essential crafting material in the RuneScape: Dragonwilds gameplay, especially if you are looking to craft the early-game gear, like the bows. But to get your hands on it is not as straightforward as picking up the basic resources. Here is everything you need to know about obtaining the Coarse Thread efficiently.
Where to find Coarse Thread?
Coarse Thread is not something a player can loot directly in RuneScape Dragonwilds . It is crafted from the fur of a Coarse Animal . One of the easiest ways to get fur is by hunting low-level creatures around starting areas. Kebbits , which are found right outside the tutorial castle, are a great source. They frequently drop the Coarse Animal fur, making them ideal for quick farming.
Some other creatures, like the rats, also drop the fur, especially in the Temple Woods. As you will likely be killing the rates for the early quests anywhere, it is a good way to gather some extra materials without going out of your way. Essentially, either of the furry animals in the starting zones drops what you need.
How to build a spinning wheel ?
After gathering enough Coarse Animal fur, you would need the spinning wheel to convert the fur into Thread. For building one, you would need,
The Ash Logs and the Stone are quite easy to find. Just chop the trees or mine the rocks. However, Flax can be a bit trickier.
Head towards Bramblemead Valley. It is to the east of the Temple Woods. Here, you will find Flax growing as blue flowers. Collect enough of them and return back to the base. Unlike the other crafting stations, a Spinning Wheel is to be placed under the roof. So, make sure you have built a simple shelter for it first.
Crafting the Coarse Thread
When setting up the spinning wheel, interact with it. Insert the Coarse Animal fur in the wheel. Each batch will require 3 Fur to make 1 Coarse Thread. So, make sure you stock up before you craft. After being processed, the Thread can be used for varied recipes, including the bows and the other gear.
So, now that you have got the Coarse Thread, you are ready to craft stronger armor and weapons. Make the right use of it. Happy hunting!
