The Pokemon GO Sparring Partners Raid Day will run on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Trainers will have three hours to participate and make the most of this limited-time event.
During these hours:
- Fighting-type Pokemon will dominate both regular and Mega Raids.
- Increased opportunities to encounter Shiny versions of the featured Pokemon.
Featured Pokemon during the Pokemon GO Sparring Partners Raid Day
Three robust Fighting-type Pokemon will take center stage during the event:
- Mega Heracross (Mega Raids)
- Hariyama (Regular Raids)
- Scraggy (Regular Raids)
Each of these Pokemon will have boosted shiny encounter rates, enhancing the excitement for shiny hunters.
It’s important to note:
- Mega Evolutions are temporary, so defeating Mega Heracross allows trainers to capture its regular form.
- Trainers must collect Mega Energy by participating in Mega Raids to trigger Mega Evolution.
New attack: Upper Hand availability
Starting from the event and continuing afterward, the featured Pokemon—Mega Heracross, Hariyama, and Scraggy—will be able to learn the exclusive Charged Move, Upper Hand.

Trainers participating in the event can benefit significantly from several bonuses:
- Remote Raid Pass Limit: Increased to 20 (available from April 12, 5:00 PM to April 13, 8:00 PM PDT).
- Free Raid Passes: Up to five additional free Raid Passes obtainable by spinning Gym Photo Discs (six total).
- Shiny Encounters : Boosted shiny rates for Heracross, Hariyama, and Scraggy in Raid battles.

An optional paid event ticket, priced at US$ 4.99 (or local equivalent), will grant trainers additional exclusive bonuses and items during Raid Day:
- Eight extra Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (14 total).
- Increased chance of receiving Rare Candy XL in Raid battles.
