SHIMLA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi Saturday said the Indian armed forces upheld the principles of " dharma yuddh " - war of righteousness - during Operation Sindoor by targeting only terrorist hideouts and consciously avoiding civilian and conventional military sites.
Addressing the centenary celebrations of Rashtriya Military School (RMS), Chail, in Himachal 's Solan , General Dwivedi lauded the institute's legacy of producing exemplary defence personnel and leaders across various walks of life. He urged the cadets to carry forward this tradition with renewed dedication and a sense of duty.
The Chail military school is the oldest of the five RMS institutions operating under the ministry of defence . Among its alumni are Param Vir Chakra Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria and at least five Mahavir Chakra winners, along with a host of generals and senior bureaucrats.
