JAMMU: The Vaishno Devi Yatra , scheduled to begin on Sept 14, has been postponed again due to persistent rains.
A Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board spokesperson posted on X: "Due to incessant rain at Bhawan and the track, commencement of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra scheduled from 14th Sept stands postponed till further order”. It added, “Devotees are requested to stay updated through official communication channels”.
The yatra was earlier suspended temporarily due to unfavorable weather conditions. Essential track maintenance and resumption had been planned for Sept 14, subject to favourable weather.
Meanwhile, senior officials of the shrine board held a joint meeting to review the yatra preparedness ahead of Navratras that begin from Sept 22.
