Shivamogga: Rain continued to lash Shivamogga district on Wednesday due to a low-pressure system. All seven taluks in the district received moderate to heavy rainfall.
The showers brought much-needed relief to residents who had been reeling under scorching heat. Farmers are now preparing for sowing activities. However, those waiting to harvest summer paddy crops are hoping for a break in the rain and sunny weather.
While the rain has brought joy, it has also posed certain challenges for the farming community.
Rainfall was reported in several areas including Neratooru, Teerthamatturu, Hosahalli, Hodala Aralapura, Araga, Hanagere, Sonale, Mumbaaru, Melinabesige, Koduru, Dodderi in Bhadravathi, Nagathibelagalu, Hasoodi, Koodali, Maidolalu, Mangote, NimbeGondi, Shikaripura town, Esuru, Gaama, Soraba, and Sagar taluks.
