NEW DELHI, April 12 In a rare move against the smartphone industry’s growing trend of ditching in-box chargers, Nothing has announced that its upcoming CMF Phone 2 Pro will ship with a charger included in the box—but exclusively in India.
The confirmation came directly from Nothing’s co-founder Akis Evangelidis, who addressed the change on X (formerly Twitter), referencing consumer feedback from the CMF Phone 1 launch in 2024. The earlier model had drawn criticism for omitting a charger, especially in value-conscious markets like India.
A Response to Consumer Feedback“We heard you my man giving it a go with CMF Phone 2 Pro in India,” Evangelidis wrote on social media, acknowledging the Indian market’s vocal demand for essential accessories to be included. While his statement only mentions India, Nothing has yet to clarify if this is a region-specific decision or a limited-time promotion.
CMF Phone 2 Pro: What to ExpectSet to launch on April 28, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1080p+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, offering a premium visual experience. Under the hood, it’s expected to run on the Dimensity 7400 chipset, paired with a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 33W wired charging.
The design language will continue to embrace Nothing’s distinctive aesthetic with visible screws on the back panel, allowing for a removable rear cover. The new finish has been described as “textured,” “tactile,” and “different”, promising a refreshed look and feel.
India Stands Out in Charging PolicyNothing’s decision to bundle a charger specifically in India could be seen as a strategic response to regional expectations, where consumers often prioritize value and completeness in product offerings. Whether this move will extend to other markets remains to be seen.
As the launch date nears, all eyes are on how the CMF Phone 2 Pro will fare in the mid-range segment—and whether its charger-in-the-box policy sets a new trend in select regions.
